Mozart Community Champions

The Community Champions project launched on the Mozart in late 2012 and got off to a flying start. We currently have an active and passionate team of champions and are on the look-out for people who want to join us!

We are based at the Beethoven Centre Paddington Development Trust Office 1, Beethoven centre, Third Avenue, London W10 4JL  – if you are interested in joining us or finding out more, or if you would like Community Champions to have a stall at your event, why not pop in and have a chat with Kimberley Durrance, give her a call on 020 8964 8024 or email

Our regular activities include:

Baby and Me Drop in – Queens Park Children’s Centre

Mondays 10:00 – 12:00
The champions support a fun, free, musical drop in for babies under 6 months and their parents run by our partner Creative Futures. Every other week this includes parent and baby yoga. We welcome parents, provide informal support and information on local services that might be useful.

Communitea – Juniper House

Last Tuesday of every month
Every month we host CommuniTea – an intergenerational get together. We have a regular 15 elderly residents and 15 primary aged children who attend. We have done lots of chair exercise, breathing, singing and dancing along with games and healthy snacks. The get togethers are so well received by elderly and children.

Queens Park Family Drop-in

The champions support a fun, free, musical drop in for parents and children under 5 run by our partner Creative Futures. The first half an hour is for babies under 6 months and their parents. The Champions welcome parents, provide informal support and information on local services that might be useful.

Junior Community Champions – Queens Park Primary School

Wednesdays, 3.30 – 5.00 Champions worked with our local school in the last quarter to set up an after school club aimed at teaching public health messages to children in a fun and friendly way. The after school club has got of to a great start, children have learn lots about oral health and healthy eating. Next term the focus will be teaching them effective strategies for dealing with stress and supporting their pears through stress.

Queens Park Community Theatre
We will be working with local people from Queens Park to write, produce and direct a piece of theatre focusing on addiction and how it affects our community. If you are interested in acting, directing, writing, costumes, set design or any other aspect of theatre, come along and get involved! For more information, contact Kimberley Durrance

Choir at the Beethoven Centre.
Every Wednesday 12.30-2.00pm with choir leader Jessica Cherag-Zade. Everyone is welcome. All ages and abilities, no need to read music and NO auditions! Just a love for music is necessary!
