Every vote needs to be a climate vote

The  general election will mark a significant moment for the climate crisis and every vote needs to be a climate vote. There are 2 million people aged 18-30 who care about climate and will be most affected by it, but are not registered to vote. Their voices won’t be heard. Politicians need to know that people are registering to vote because of climate change.

There is less than a month until the registration deadline of 25 November, so if we want to seize this moment we need to do it fast.

PDT with Julie’s Bicycle, in partnership with The Comms Lab, is supporting a national campaign to motivate and inspire 2 million young people to register to vote, with climate as their main concern.  The community, creative and cultural sectors can really help with this. It’s important to stress this is a non-partisan registration campaign. It is not about encouraging people who to vote for, but what to vote for!

We would really appreciate it if you would join us and bring your creativity to this challenge. Over the next couple of weeks, Julie’s Bicycle will run “Creative Sprints” across the country for community and creative organisations in cities where young people’s registration is low. Dates to be announced shortly.

Things that you can do now:

  1. Register interest in the campaign to hear more!
  2. Share the campaign with your networks #ItsOurTime #MakeClimateCount
  3. Get creative: this is an invitation to join us and bring your creativity to this challenge… so start thinking!

Julie’s Bicycle will provide key guidance and support.
